Best of the Best BBQ Cook-Off |

Hello All,
As some of you may all ready know Jeni and I took a 6th Place in
Brisket at the Best of the Best and a 9th place in chicken at the Open
version on Saturday. Over all at the Best of the Best we took 23rd, I
don't remember exactly but I think we were 36 or 38 at the Open
version on Saturday.
Great event, very nice people, Kell, Kell's Mother, and Tammy our
ambassador were wonderful. The team to our right called "The Dixie's
Boy's" from Florida were way to cool, invited Jeni and I for both
Breakfast, Dinner and some snacks. Joe runs the team and he is one
nice guy. This crew reflects his wonderful hospitality and
friendliness. Just goes to show that BBQ Folks are great everywhere!
Well didn't to to bad for the second BBQ competition for the year.
Took 20th in Chicken at the Best of the Best. I decided to make some
major, major changes to the chicken at the Open version and took a
9th, I guess it was a good call. The Brisket on Friday was very good
didn't get the same result on Saturday. Boy it would have been nice to
get that 6th place and the 9th place on the same day. Well maybe next
time.
It was Jeni's Birthday on Saturday, there was a delay in getting the
scores in. So I went to Kell and asked him, hey it's my wife Birthday,
that was all it took. I went on stage and proceed to introduce Jeni to
the whole gang of BBQ'ers. With a Happy Birthday to you song from all.
She looked unhappy at first, then she gave me a little kiss, all
was OK. It was a little scary for awhile, but what can I say she is
the Best of the Best! (to me)
Well that is all for now, Thank you for all the support of my BBQ
Family here in CA. It's good to be back home, where the tri-tips roam.
